Selah – סֶלָה

Be Like the Bird Be like the bird, who Halting in his flight On limb too slight Feels it give way beneath him, Yet sings Knowing he hath wings. by Victor Hugo
Just as the bird has a rhythm of alighting on a branch to rest, let us develop a rhythmic flow of rest that is both instinctual and purposeful. Though the seasons of balance may shift and turn, storms may arise, and winds come and go, we find ultimate rest and shelter in God. May this become as natural as breathing. The air beneath your wings is that of God. A holy wind that sustains you and propels you forward.
The Psalmist portrays a similar picture for us in Psalm 63:6-8: “When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches, For You have been my help, And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy. My soul clings to You; Your right hand takes hold of me.”
Take a breath.
Psalm 61:4 Let me dwell in Your tent forever; Let me take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. Selah
Selah. Pause. Reflect. Praise.
